Happy New Year (Late)

Well Happy New Year 2010. . . Sorry I am a month and a half late. Oh well.

I have been keeping very busy lately. I am in my final year of school. I will graduate December 2010. I am taking on-line classes so I don't have be away from Edy as much. I will have my BS degree in Business, Finance and Management. I finally see the light at the end of a very long tunnel. I am working in the same bank and continue to learn. I enjoy working, however I also miss being a stay at home mom. I feel very blessed that my parents are so willing to help me take care of Edy. She usually stays home with "nana" and "papa", but we have a daycare that she can go from time to time.
Edy continues to improve in school and surprises me every day as she reads and spells and writes. Every week she has a spelling test. If she gets 100% on her practice test on Wednesday, she does not have to take the real test on Friday. She has gotten 100% for 17 weeks in a row. She is amazing. She turns 7 next month. It is crazy. I look at my beautiful daughter and wonder where the time went. She makes me smile everyday. She loves to sing and dance. She even sings in the shower. She also loves to run. The school has a running club after school on Mondays that she attends. She runs for 30 minutes and loves it. Eden has also lost 2 teeth so far and two are wiggly.
We are still in Hamilton, Illinois. On the weekends, we usually go to Quincy or to Nauvoo. We go to a place called Bonkers which is a huge Jungle Gym for children (and adults) or we catch a movie. We also like to go to the homes in Nauvoo or by the waterfalls outside of Nauvoo (although that is more of a summer activity). We also love to go visit family.
The other news that I would like to leave you with is this. I have been working hard on trying to loose weight. I realized when I separated from my ex-husband, I was unhappy with the way I looked. I tried hard not to be in pictures. After I realized how unhappy I was I decided to change. I started exercising every day and I stopped eating bad food. It is scary that I am even showing this picture to you, but I must for you to believe me. I have lost almost 60 pounds. I still have about 45 more pounds to go, which I hope to have accomplished by the summer. Anyhoo, Here is the before picture. . . May 2007:

And here is a picture that I took Christmas Day 2009:

I will keep you updated as I continue to loose. I hope everyone has a great 2010. I have a feeling things will continue to be good for Edy and me. I am so thankful for all my family (especially Edy), my friends and Heavenly Father. He has blessed me. I don't know what I would without them.

SORRY and Catch up again

Okay I figure it is about time to let you all know what is happening with me and Edy. June 25th of this year, the divorce was final. It was a long road, but Edy and I got through it. We are much happier.

Things are going really good right now in life. Not a lot new with me but here it is. . .

First I final got back to my natural hair color. I know that this is not a huge mile stone, but it is exciting for me. I am still working at State Central Bank, but I am not in the wire department anymore. I work in the loan department. I love it. This is only my second week, but I am catching on fast and really enjoy who I work with. I am also 13 semester hours away from getting my B.S. degree at Western Illinios University. So I decided to hit the books this summer and finish. I can only take about a class or two at a time, but I feel it is worth it. My life is pretty busy, but I am loving it and wouldn't change a thing. Like I said really not a whole lot of news on my end. . . work, school, being a mom (which rocks the best) and having fun. Eden and I have had a great summer. She spent time taking swimming lessons, riding her bike, working in the garden with Papa (my dad) and playing with her friends in the neighborhood. But here is the exciting news with my Edy. . .

My Eden. . . is now in 1st Grade. It is amazing how much she has grown. She reads, writes, and cracks jokes like nothing else. She can ride her bike without training wheels, ties her shoes, and loves to cook. She also has two loose teeth, FINALLY. She loves her new teacher and enjoys her class mates. This is her first day of school outfit. She picked it out herself. I think she did a pretty good job. I enjoy every minute I get with her. She is a true joy in my life.

It is funny she keeps on asking me when I am going to find a new "boy" (aka husband). I wish divorce on no one, but for me and my daughter it was so right. She does spend time with her father and his family. She goes to see him every other weekend.

She loves school and I love her school. The principal meets each student everyday before the bell rings. He is always involved with the students. I can't wait to see what Eden learns in 1st Grade.

Hope all is well with everyone else. I am on facebook if you are on there. I did however go back to my maiden name so it is now Meghan McCandless. I will try to keep up and not have so much of a gap next time.

Happy Birthday Edy!!!

I can't believe Edy is celebrating her 6th birthday today. Wow, what a wonderful adventure Edy and I are having. She was born at 10:26 am on Sunday March 16, 2003. It was not a long labor. I went in to the hospital at 8:00 am and the doctor broke my water. He decided to go to church since first time mothers never are quick. At about 9:45 I was at a 10 and ready to push. The nurse was paging my doctor every 5 minutes, because she didn't want to deliver Eden by herself. The doctor walks in with is robes half way on, saw that Eden was coming and said "OH MY GOODNESS!!!" 16 minutes of pushing later she was born. I am so blessed and excited to have this wonderful spirit. She is loving, funny, smart, clever, a helper, a great girl. She loves the outdoors, reading stories, and coloring. She is always willing to help set the table and help cook dinner. She loves to have mommy/daughter time. On Saturdays we always go out to eat, go the Adventure Zone (huge jungle place in Nauvoo) and then go home and watch a movie. So Happy Birthday my sweet pea, enjoy your day.
